76人隊在主場迎戰灰狼隊，雖然身為NBA本季墊底的常客，但76人和灰狼戰到最後一秒都難分高下。灰狼雖然在終場前1.6秒靠魯比歐（Ricky Rubio ）飆進追平三分球，但在0.2秒時柯文頓（Robert Covington）回敬超美技空中補籃，成功送上絕殺，以93：91獲勝。
第4節開打前領先達11分的76人無奈遭到反撲、在此節被對方灌進23分，自己卻只攻得14分。最後6.5秒的進攻機會球權由灰狼掌握，他們靠魯比歐飆進外線、追成91：91平手。
時間只剩下1.6秒、看似要進入延長賽，但76人卻跑出了完美戰術；薩里奇（Dario Saric）擔任發邊線球的任務，柯文頓當時和76人主將安比德（Joel Embiid）都站好攻擊位置，不過安比德卻是一個誘餌，他替柯文頓掩護。一個擋人之後，柯文頓繞過安比德和防守球員切入禁區，接到薩里奇從上方傳來的球、直接空中補進絕殺對手。
安比德和柯文頓興奮倒地慶祝，不過時間還沒走完；根據大會紀錄此時還有0.2秒，灰狼喊出20秒短暫停。不過依照規定0.2秒已不足以讓球員正常出手，除非灰狼空中撥進才有機會翻盤。最終灰狼並沒有成功的攻擊機會，76人以93：91驚險帶走勝利。
76人本季戰績低迷，常跟林書豪效力的籃網隊搶爭「爐主」；不過目前開出2連勝，以9勝24敗稍優於籃網。灰狼的唐斯（Karl-Anthony Towns）強攻23分、15籃板恐怖數據，拉文（Zach LaVine）也貢獻28分，但無法幫助球隊客場取勝。
