灰狼狀元郎「KAT」Karl-Anthony Towns在1日的比賽中打出生涯最佳表現，主場迎戰尼克狂砍47分18籃板，但球隊卻無法贏球。
因為關鍵時刻尼克一哥「甜瓜」Carmelo Anthony就是有辦法接管比賽！面對灰狼另一狀元Andrew Wiggins的防守，招牌試探步後跳投命中，時間僅剩2.3秒，灰狼最後一擊以失誤收場，比數106比104，尼克拿下勝利。
Anthony全場手感不佳16投僅中5拿下14分，但致勝一擊得手價值連城。

和Towns對位的Kristaps Porzingis也有29分8籃板的優異表現，同梯兩大長人對決，Porzingis表示：「我想大家都看了場精彩的好比賽，更重要的是我們贏了。」
Anthony也盛讚Towns及Porzingis二位優質長人的表現：「只有天空才是他們的極限！」
